    Great GuidanceEvery summer I buy workbooks for my two boys. This year I chose Kumon, I purchase the whole collection of Grade 4 for my son going into 4th grade and the whole collection of Grade 3 (thinking Grade 2 would be too easy) for my son going into 2nd grade. Later on I found that my younger son had difficulties in some areas in Grade 3 so I bought Grade 2.This has been a great guidance for my kids and I. The books helped my kids learn step by step and I really do see improvements. Its great for me, I simply use the answer sheet to correct and it helps me find out what their weaknesses are. Overall I really like Kumon workbooks compare to previous companies that I have purchased because I do see improvements. Next year I will purchase Kumon again.

    Pretty goodKumon’s strategy is pure repetition-so after a brief review of addition/subtraction the bulk of the book is pure division. 20 problems per page, page after page. My child needs practice so it works ok-but he did get frustrated with the repetition. I also wish there was a little more room between problems on the long division pages so he could work without bleeding into the next problem.

    Four StarsThere should be more instruction on how to do the problems. My daughter ended 3rd grade struggling with division so I thought this would be a good way to improve over the summer. I was hoping it would have more directions/instruction on how to complete the problems, but there isn’t any. I’ve had to teach my daughter how to do long division which I was a bit rusty at and not sure if it’s up to sniff with the new common core way of division. She is getting good practice and I guess so am I.

    It is perfect for “filling in the gaps” for my sonI have ordered all the books in the 3rd and 4th grade series…math and reading/writing. After I ordered 2 books, I was so impressed that I wanted them all. It is perfect for “filling in the gaps” for my son. He can work at his own pace and continue learning throughout the summer. We are going to continue with these books throughout the school year. I would highly recommend these books to any parent who wants to help their child make major improvements in reading and math.

    Great Kumon Division BookKumon makes pretty good workbooks, and this one is really good for kids who need a little extra practice – and good reviewing for the summer. My daughter does a page every other day this summer so that she doesn’t forget her division and multiplication (there are some multiplication problems in here, too!). It starts off pretty simple and goes on to problems with more steps to take. With practice like this, your kids will thank you later!

    Great tool for Alzheimer’s patients.I purchased these to help my mother who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. She was forgetting to lock her doors at night and was also leaving the cook stove and water running. After a month or so of one hour daily lessons she regained the ability to keep herself safe. I don’t think it matters if they get the answers right or not it’s the action of doing the lessons that helps get things running again. I don’t know how long this will help but for now it’s been remarkable.

    too much for one topicMy son usually spend s~ 30 min for homework and study each day. one worksheet of language.. and one or two worksheets of math.. This 80-page book has division, just pure division. Yes, the title is Division, so I should have known. Gradual level single digit.. then double digit.. then three digit.. I think it’s important to practice simple calculation (+ – x /) repeatedly for speedy skill, but for a little boy, I felt like it’s too much. This might be my last kumon book for my son.

    Not what I expectedThis will not teach your child how to do division. It’s just a bunch of problems on a page that your kid has to figure out on their own. It’s a nice refresher, but didn’t teach them anything.My daughter is going into fourth grade, so a lot of the concepts (like long division) are new to her. I had her watch videos and do lessons on Khan Academy before doing this book.

    Definitely recommend for any kids strugglingWe use this for our 6 year old and 10 year olds and not only does this really help them learn but they also enjoy doing it. Before these books my kids struggled and now are keeping up with their classmates

    useless book for usI am so sorry that I wasted money on this book. This is the first time I have ordered a KUMON book, and never will again. No wonder there are very little pages to preview in the product information, because there are NO INSTRUCTIONAL PAGES. All this has is pages of problems to do, with an answer key at the back. I have plenty of division problems at home already! I needed what they described as a step through method of showing a child HOW to divide. NOTHING is shown at all. What their “method” is, I have no idea. I am a retired teacher, and this is just a practice book. It is not, in my opinion, a teaching tool whatsoever. This is just a lot of progressively harder “busy work” practice problems with an answer sheet.

    Good Grade 4 StartVery good for starting grade 4. My son is pretty good in math even though he really doesn’t like it. He’s entering grade 4 this year and I feel the school he attended in third grade wasn’t teaching him well in math at all. I started this summer with him in the Kumon grade book. It was good but not challenging enough for my son. I stopped that book and started this book about mid June. This book has been a good challenge for him. As previous reviewers have noted there’s no examples in this book. So, be prepared to explain how and why the problems are performed. There are 10-12 problems per page. I think this is good. Not too many nor too few. This book starts with double digits being divided by single digits and progresses to 3 digits being divided by 2 digits. I like the colors of this book and the animal characters keep it warm and friendly. My son does a page in this book every day and a page in the Kumon 4 grade multiplication book most days of the week. All together he spends no more than an hour doing both, usually about 45 minutes. I like this amount of time spent on math, then he is allowed to do whatever makes him happy the rest of the day. I record his work efforts in a book so he can see what he has done. And, he gets daily treats as rewards and we use these Kumon books as motivation for bigger rewards that make him happy. That he is learning math makes me happy and Kumon has made this possible.

    Kumon = ExcellentKumon books are excellent in developing math skills one step at a time. It’s focused. My son, who is now 8, has mastered multiplication and is currently mastering division. He has been using Kumon for a few years now. His math skills are above expectation for his grade level according to his teacher. This is a homework supplement and my son works on a few pages every other day. Kudos to Kumon!

    My daughter does not like maths muchMy daughter does not like maths much, so I thought she will practice and learn more but it was so boring for her.and this are her reviews. The book was tough and boring does not guide you anything about. the things are out of syllabus. and instructions are only divide or calculate nothing more than that.I can not make her finish the forth grade workbooks in grade 5th.     these are very structured books and fun to dofast delivery.I buy kumon books for my daughter in all subjects that are available.she enjoys doing them (most of the times).these are very structured books and fun to do.t.she just finished year 4 this and moving to year 5.she improved a lot since she has been doing kumon books.in her final report she did 4c and 4b in all subjects. she used to go to kumon centre,she did not liked it and found it boring.more important that we had to pay £50 for each subject on a monthly basis. now we do not have to travel to the centre and he can work on these books at her paste.very pleased.I would recommend them
