Easy and engaging cursive book. The book builds on single letters of the alphabet, upper and lower case, by tracing. Then builds to short single words to multiple short words. Daughter finished 2nd grade and is enjoying this book during the summer to continue practicing before 3rd grade.

Excellent guideMy 10 year old son is enjoying using this book. Cursive has been removed from our school’s curriculum, but his current teacher is sneaking it in anyway (thank goodness!). I bought this book and the companion book with just the letters. He doesn’t really use the one with just letters much, as this book gives plenty of practice for each letter while also attaching it to other letters. The ‘how to attach the letters to each other’ was the part my son needed to practice. Other children might prefer to practice the solitary letters first, as we all learn differently. But if you’re only wanting one book, I would recommend this one as it affords both.

Very good.Home school mom for the past 6 years. We use Abeka penmanship. This was a nice book to do over the summer when we are more relaxed on our school work. I really recomend this book.

Really enjoy this book for younger childrenI am really impressed with all of the Kumon Workbooks we have ordered (we have quite a few). I really do like this cursive writing book. However, this one I would actually err on the side of using it with younger children. It is a great follow-on to the first cursive writing book and I would recommend it for the 4 – 6 crowd instead of 6 – 8. This workbook is great for people who are using Montessori methods of cursive first with younger children.

Served the PurposeMy grandchild is 13 and in the 7th grade. Cursive writing was not part of the elementary school curriculum. It seems that some view it as not necessary. Yet, her signature was required on applications for magnet school. She tried, but the signature was awful. Since being in middle school, her signature has been required on several documents. I refuse to let her continue to wing it. She completed the workbook, and can now write in cursive,

Good Transition tool from Print to CursiveI taught my kids cursive writing but they were having a hard time transitioning to using it in real life. We have been practicing with this book every day and it has helped them become naturals at it. I will use this when the time comes again.

For kids who already know how to write cursive lettersThis is not a beginner’s book, despite the stated age range. (What 6 year old knows how to write in cursive?!?) Try the Handwriting Without Tears beginners cursive books if your child needs to LEARN cursive.

Kumon is amazing!!It just doesn’t’ get any better than these, I started with these and have ventured off only once to end up coming right back to these the setup of the learning is awesome and easy enough for my kids to progress through the subject matter on their own!!

He enjoyed the lessons and I think the goals were very …My son, who hates practicing his penmanship, actually asked to work on this book. He enjoyed the lessons and I think the goals were very attainable for one sitting. I like the Kumon books and have bought several others. Highly recommend.

Good for younger kids onlyMy fifth grade son recently switched to a school where cursive is no longer taught. He had background in cursive from the old school and I wanted him to continue to practice. This is a book for younger kids – they start out writing words like cat, bat, etc. So if your child already has a background in cursive, this is much too simple.

The cursive helped our child write neaterOur child struggles with handwriting and is afflicted with chicken scratch inheritance from her father. Cursive is helping her write neater; she’s doing 2-3 pages daily during summer before 2nd grade starts

Not holistically engaging like the Montessori method for teaching cursiveThis does teach a child to write cursive letters correctly, but it’s still a workbook. Not holistically engaging like the Montessori method for teaching cursive.

Slightly advanced for absolute newbiesThis book jumps straight into words and doesn’t go over how to properly draw the letters. I should have gotten the simple book to start with first.

My two sons and their friend all love doing these books (2 pages a dayMy two sons and their friend all love doing these books (2 pages a day, 5-10 minutes at a time. I have to admit, it is far easier than doing Kumon maths). The eldest one (aged 8) has already completed 2 books. He got an award from his school teacher last year as his handwriting had improved so much. I think my son is one of those children who genuinely struggle with neat handwriting. I suggested getting a 3rd book and he is all enthusiastic about it. That’s the way to go for us. Practice, practice, practice.

OkNot bad for practising righting, unfortunately not the same letters as my boy learn at school. It can get a bit confusing.
