Kumon is the best!!Use their books all the time for supplemental education for my childrens homeschool lessons! Absolutely love kumon and how they review and gradual work into a new lesson, we’ve had much success with these and I will continue to buy. I was very pleased they came out with this one in particular because they didn’t have it before and hope that kumon will continue to put new detailed subject books out so I can continue to buy!!

If you like Kumon- this one is a BUSTWhat a disappointment. I have used many of the KUMON workbooks and thought they were really well done. Liked My book of easy mazes, my first book of mazes, mazes around the world, my first book of tracing, my first book of cutting, lower case letters, numbers, etc. But this one doesn’t teach like the others. Reading a scale as 600 grams with a needle pointing to 600 is ridiculous for a 6,7,8 year old. Especially after pages of looking at the scales and TRACING the answers. Come on! The list of concepts attempted looks good, but my 4 year old could do this one. There should be some calculation involved, like when you look at a real measuring cup with hash marks that are not all labeled. Bummer.I bought Kumon Weight, Kumon Length, and Kumon Volume all at the same time because of my happy experience with many other Kumon books. All three of these are Busts.

Too simple for this age suggestionI want to start out by saying that I have purchased, and my kids have completed, or are working on, almost every single Kumon workbook ever made! We love Kumon. Maybe that is why it was too simple for them. I purchased this book for both my 5 year old (nearly 6) and my 7 year old. They love Kumon workbooks and were very excited when they started this one. They sat down at the same time and plowed through most of the book in 45 minutes (55 pages for my 7 year old and 51 pages for my 5 year old). They would have probably finished the book if we didn’t have to go out at that time. They loved doing the pages and didn’t want to stop! The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars instead of 5 stars is that I think it is too simple of a workbook for the suggested age range. This book includes coloring and circling the heaviest or lightest object, putting a checkmark under the heaviest and a circle under the lightest set of blocks, coloring in equal weights of blocks on a scale with 2 sides, tracing and writing numbers to 200, and reading the weight (in pounds and grams) on a scale and writing or tracing the answers below. The scale pages have 1/3 of the pages with the answers for EVERY SINGLE problem under the scale, and all your kid has to do is trace the number. This drives me nuts with these books, but I white out most of the answers so that they have more to do. There are 76 worksheet pages in this book (down from the normal 80). I would still purchase this book, even knowing how simple it has been, because my kids have really had fun doing it.

Not relevantThe book is not relevant for Indian syllabus because it uses the unit pound for weight. I returned it immediately.
