Kumon advocate for lifeLove these books! I am a former Kumon student and instructor assistant. I buy these Kumon books for my friends to introduce and help them understand the Kumon way. The best time to start Kumon is at the earliest age possible. These books are great supplements to introduce your kid(s) to skills. However, based on a few other reviews, these books does not replace the Kumon program. If you are looking for the worksheet curriculum that involves repetition, self-learning and mastery you need to call/email your local Kumon center and enroll in the program.

Age appropriateI wouldn’t recommend because you don’t get the bang for your buck. You get 12 mazes,5 jig saw puzzles matches, shadow match to picture, shapes separate match to shapes touching, dot shapes, which animal is tallest, some coloring. You are paying for paper quality. These activities can be found in most prek workbooks where you will get more practice. In this book you get 36 pages total. Though age appropriate its not worth the 8 bucks.

I’d have to say my child has a better than basic foundation from her daycare classesPurchased this for my daughter (3.5 years) as some of her friends are doing the Kumon classes. Overall, I’d have to say my child has a better than basic foundation from her daycare classes. I have some of the other books, and this one starting out seems to be quite basic. I’d have to say it is more for a 2, maybe 3 year old who has never attended school. The books are not too expensive, but the price should really reflect what “teaching” level, so this book is overpriced. I think you could get the same concepts by looking for free printables on line.

Muy diverso y divertidoEsta muy interesante lo voy a usar este año escolar 2019-20 en la escuela con mis estudiantes de diferentes grados

The book paper quality is good.Frankly saying it’s not extraordinary concept for the people who use worksheets ,but for newbee’s I would recommend. Color pages and quality of page are very good for erase and redoing.

Great challengeAnother great Kumon book. If I could give every kindergarten teacher a gift, it would be a bunch of these skills books from Kumon. They’re simple and challenging. Love it.

Very good, would recommend for children 4.5 – 5.5 years old.I have bought this book for my 5yo twin daughters which are currently in Reception class. They found this book quite engaging and really liked to solve puzzles. It contains several types of problems — to find which anymal is higher, for example, or to guess the whole picture by its shadow or outline. Each group of problems contains 4 pages, each page is more difficult than the previous one. I think the optimal strategy is to offer a child 2 pages a day. First day they figure out what the problem and solution are, the second day they will need to remember what they did last time.My girls were 5 years and half when they got these books — I think this is around the upper limit for this book. All children are different and a lot depends on what they did in the past (this is not the first KUMON book my girls have seen), but in my opinion most of the problems can be solved by child from about 4 and half year old.

O Kumon subestima a inteligência das criançasO material do Kumon, de maneira geral, subestima a inteligência das crianças. O excesso de imagens e recursos visuais limita a imaginação das crianças. Não utilizarei mais este recurso com a minha filha.
